Tropical Storm Beryl is currently moving through the western Caribbean and is expected to have potentially devastating impacts on the Cayman Islands. As of July 3, 2024, the storm is located 50 miles southwest of Grand Cayman and is tracking west-northwest at 20 mph.

Live tracking maps, satellite images, and forecasts from the National Hurricane Center show that the purple circle indicating the extent of hurricane-force winds at least 74 mph is currently located over the Cayman Islands.

The National Hurricane Center has issued a hurricane warning for the Cayman Islands and a tropical storm warning for Jamaica, Cuba, and parts of Mexico.

Residents in the affected areas are urged to take precautions and follow the instructions of local officials.
